Hey my Friends 🙂 Hope you all are good! 🙂 I just finished this beautiful book Because Life is a Gift” by Disha Chhabra 🙂 This is the 2nd book of Disha, her first book was “My Beloved’s MBA Plans” ….When I first saw this book on Flipkart, I saw the title and I just smiled. 🙂 The title really says everything “Life is a Gift”. So I just ordered it on Flipkart and got it in next few days, then I began to read it. 🙂

Because Life is a Gift written by Disha is real-life success stories of fifteen differently-abled people, it is a tribute to their courage, passion and zest for life of men and women. They are all different but with a single common thing that is the love of life. 🙂 They will challenge your notion of the impossible. They will inspire you to live life to the fullest, because life is truly a gift. The book is not just about the people but it’s all about the Life. 🙂

Really, It is one of the best books I’ve ever read. 🙂 I loved the book because it has stories that inspire. All the 15 stories are very inspirational….I would say, its not just a book, it’s a journey. The people in this book are simply Amazing. They had different abilities, they used it and succeeded. Guys, I would not say much about this book because I really feel you should read this book to understand what the lives of these people are all about and what the author is trying to say…and if the stories of these people touch your heart then write an email to them, because the best part of this book is in this book Disha has given e-mail IDs of all the people towards the end of each chapter which I feel was an great thought. 🙂

The words of this book are emotional but inspiring and motivating. You can read this book in just one sitting. Its a very well written book, it’ll definitely inspire you. I loved the writing skills of Disha. She is an amazing writer. 🙂 I want to salute her and thank her for writing such a book. 🙂 It completely changes the way of how you look differently-abled people…whenever we see such people, we feel sympathy for them….but we should understand that they don’t want our sympathy, they just want love and encouragement. I don’t think sympathy is the right word. Many people with disabilities don’t want people to have pity for them. They just want some respect and love and we should respect them, we should love them, that’s all. 🙂

All in all I would say it is a beautiful book, It is truly inspirational and everyone should read it. 🙂 Disha is a fab writer and I am already looking forward to her next book! 😀 🙂

My Rating:-
No Doubt, with a *Bigggggg Smile*… 5/5 🙂

Book Review:- 34 Bubblegums and Candies by Preeti Shenoy.

1

I’ve read “Life Is What You Make It” written by the Indian author Preeti Shenoy. It was a good book, you can see the review here. Today I am going to write a review on 34 Bubblegums and Candies written by the same author (Preeti Shenoy). I ordered it from Flipkart.. 34 Bubblegums and Candies is the debut novel of Preeti, carries all incidents that we face in our lives, be it good or bad. It is essentially a collection of 34 real-life incidents, based on her life. 🙂
The author has mentioned several little incidents that happen everyday and that many of us forget to take notice of. I would say that it is a nice read. It reminds you of many things that we leaves behind in our life.

2

‘Why the title ’34 Bubblegums and Candies’? To this, the author answers ‘because there are incidents that make you ponder and make you want to think and maybe re-think. Like chewing a bubble gum. Then there are others, spiked with doses of humor that make you laugh and leave you a feel-good sensation. Just like eating a candy’. True to its title, the book has 34 very short incidents drawn from the author’s life. Many of which are candies and very few are bubblegums. 😀

3

In this book there is a story, a romance, a suspense, some tears, some hearty laughs, some heart touching moments, some naughty moments and lots of twists and turns…yes I found all of the above in this book.. A cocktail of all such feelings and emotions have been beautifully put across in the 34 chapters of this book. 🙂
It is a very nice and a very motivating book. It is a tiny book with 146 pages and the price is also very cheap. 😀

Such a good book which deals with the experiences we encounter in our everyday lives, and how we can take every situation as it comes. Preeti is an lovely writer, there is no doubt in that. I loved the way she is able to pick an everyday incident of her life. 🙂 It is a good book, a one time read. I love Preeti’s writing skills. After reading this book I am sure she’s a great person. 🙂 I don’t know why, but after reading this book, I LOVE PREETI SHENOY 😀 😛 She is a lovely writer 🙂 and I really want to meet her once in my life! 🙂

There are 34 chapters/stories in the book and My personal favourites from the book are –

1. Please hug me-I’m just like you (An emotional account of a day spent with children suffering from HIV/AIDS),

2. Radiators and Drains (The two types of people in everybody’s life)

3. My Special Friend (About the author’s bestfriend)

4. Siblings without rivalry (An instance where the author’s older kid accepted punishment in school, saving his younger and rule-abiding sister from the embarrassment)

5. The Magic of faith (A beautiful instance of the author’s six year old daughter’s faith in her mother)

6. It happened One Night (A funny incident, It made me laught a lot)

7. Live, Love Laugh (A beautiful message.)

All in all, 34 Bubblegums and Candies is a must read book for everyone…So go ahead, give it a try! 🙂

BOOK REVIEW:- LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT by PREETI SHENOY.

Life is what you make it

Life is what you make it

Heya guys! 🙂 Hope you are all fine. 🙂 Finally I read Preeti Shenoy’s “LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT” 🙂 And today I am going to write a review on it.
The book title “Life is what you make it” does not connect with the book contents. One would expect that this is about taking life as it comes, managing tough spots and so on – instead this is a like a fictional story. If you are thinking that this is an inspirational book, that can get you out of your lows and that lays road to your goals, DO NOT look at this, Anyways I bought this book after reading so many good reviews, But I must say, I was little disappointed after reading it.

02

It is a fiction story written by Preeti Shenoy. Basically the story is about only one topic that is Bipolar Disorder – A mental disorder marked by alternating periods of depression.” The story begins as a flashback. The story is about “Ankita Sharma” a young, intelligent, promising 21 year old management student and a beautiful girl with so many hopes and dreams. 6 months later, she found herself admitted at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) being treated for bipolar disorder. In the beginning Ankita was like just another girl living in a conservative family of Cochin (Karela). Ankita had a boyfriend named Vaibhav who got admission in IIT Delhi, We’re shown letters that Ankita sends to Vaibhav and Vaibhav’s reply. She was smart and pretty, guys easily fell in love with her. She was the art club secretary in her reputed St.Agnes college.
She used to visit the cultural fests between different colleges and that’s where she met Abhi. As Vaibhav and Ankita are in long distance relationship, Ankita easily gets closer to Abhi and Vaibhav is unaware of all these things.

Later Ankita has to break-up with Abhi. Ankita takes it too practically but Abhi takes it too emotionally causing an accident death of Abhi in distress. Later in a new city Mumbai, Ankita moves on and focuses on her studies. She tops her class in all the exams but there’s something wrong in her life, a sentence said by Abhi’s grandfather “Never belittle love” still makes her feel guilty. The death of Abhi affects her so much and so that she transitions to the high state of bipolar disorder, reaches the pinnacle of her personality and then descends into depression with two attempts at suicide. She loses all her senses. She is not able to write or read. She breaks completely. After the regular attempts of suicide, she has been moved to mental hospital where she met Dr. Madhusudhan. Her experiences in NMHI along with her interactions with Dr. Madhusudan that how he helped her through her treatment was really touching. The second half of the novel describes her fight with her disorder, And after sometimes Ankita recovered, she becomes normal, she drops MBA and confess everything to Vaibhav and suddenly THE END!

03

Overall, It is a time pass novel, I didn’t find it ‘Inspirational’. All other characters of the story is okay (not so good). I liked the character of Abhi the most. I would say that the writing style of Preeti Shenoy is good. I think this is a one-time read. I don’t say it is a bad book, but it is not so good one. It’s confusing why it is titled “Life is what you make it”. The topic or message of Bipolar Disorder is good, ainfact its really great. It’s a really nice message, I agree, but the story doesn’t bring it out like it needs to. The only positive point is the price of book. I hope next book from the author should be worth reading. Read it if you’re totally free and have nothing useful to do.

BOOK REVIEW:- CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE? BY RAVINDER SINGH

72096_518721934835852_1868947415_n

CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE is a sequel to the ‘I Too Had a Love Story‘. It is the story of Ravinder Singh’s second attempt at love with an Indian girl, he finds in Belgium. I had read ‘I too had a love story’ earlier and I loved the honest and touching way he (Ravinder) had written the book. When I read the last few lines of the book, which says “Because to think of another girl, I feel like a whore, I silently say to the emptiness around me” that time I really thought that’s a true love, But when I heard Ravindra’s book title ‘Can love happen twice?’ and it is a sequel to “I too had a love story”, seriously I was lil bit angry and confused. I wondered how could he do this to Khushi, to himself, who loved her so much and brought her back alive by writting a book in her memory????
I wanted to read it, So finally after reading ITHALS, I ordered Ravindra’s 2nd book “Can Love Happen Twice?” I ordered it on Flipkart & after 3-4 days received it and then I began to read it.

On the evening of 14th feb, valentine’s day, Ravin and his thee best friends are invited for a radio show in Chandigarh, ‘Raat gayi, baat baki’. Ravin was supposed to talk about his bestselling book ‘I too had a love Story’ and life after that. But only his three friends could turned up. With the show going forward, they revealed where Ravin is actually now. This brings the curiosity what situation made those happen in his life. With the curiosity on peak, one of his friends start reading his written diary as collection of happening of his life in Belgium, narrating the story live in one of Chandigarh’s Fm.

blllll
The first few chapters were very boring and sometimes I really wanted to flip the book straight to the end to find out how it turned out, But I didn’t! Honestly speaking, ravin falling in love with Simar didn’t create much impact. The character of Simar is really irritating. I really didn’t like Simar’s character from the start, maybe because I loved khushi’s character more and during the talk about marriage with Simar’s father I think we could guess what was coming next. It made me hate simar even more, while reading about her insecurities which she hadn’t mentioned earlier in their relationship & when they breakup and she says “Im sorry ravs” I really hate it. Inshort I loved “I too had a love story” but I do not think I loved “Can love happen twice?”
But but but… for the main question “CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE?” In the book we see Ravin saying to MP that “TRUE LOVE CAN NEVER COME TO A PERSON THE SECOND TIME” there’s your answer…..!

But as for my opinion………..

“Love can happen many times, but TRUE LOVE can happen only once!!!!!! ” 🙂

Well I didn’t hate reading This book, I didn’t love reading it, like I did for “I Too Had A Love Story”. Overall a boring book, This book is a time-pass read. I would say I am little disappointed. Guys just read it if you want to know what happened to Ravin but please do not keep your expectations very high with this book.

Book Review:- I Too Had A Love Story by Ravinder Singh

I Too Had A Love Story By Ravinder Singh

Hey Guys! 🙂 Just completed reading this book ” I too had a love story- Ravinder Singh” …One of the most fantastic and heart touching books that i’ve ever came across. I was literally getting goosebumps…It is damn touching. The book is based on author’s true tragic love story. The story starts with the reunion of 4 friends (Ravin and his three Best friends “Happy, Amardeep and Manpreet” ) they discussed about their marriage plans. After returning from his reunion, Ravin registered in shaadi.com and where he meets Khushi and there their love story starts. They madly fall in love and commit to marry each other. But after some time when their engagement is fixed on Feb 14, Kushi met with an accident and she died. 😦
When I gone through this story I was completely lost in the world of true love. This novel gives us a message that true love, its feelings & the emotions never dies, they will always be present deep in your heart and you’ll always feel the same for your loved ones. All the feelings and emotions so well described. I was literally crying at the end when Ravin said ” She died, I survived and because I survived I die daily….” I don’t know why but I cried a lottttt. 😦
Really it is a beautiful, tragic, simple and true story. Ravinder portrays his emotions and feelings so beautifully. The story is full of touching, it has just touched my heart deeply although i never read books this is the 2nd book I think I am reading and truely speaking I found it to be very touchy, lots of happiness, sadness and much more….JUST LOVED IT. 🙂 Overall I would say it is a wonderful book, a masterpiece of Ravinder Singh!!!! 🙂
